June 6th, 2008 - ACA annual Spring Golf Outing. The event will be held at the Western Turnpike Golf Course. More information will be posted soon regarding the details. If anyone would like to participate as a volunteer, sponsor etc, or if you have any questions about the golf outing, please contact Richard Garhartt at RichardG@allianceinvestigative.com

Our Annual Fall Golf Outing will be taking place in September. It may seem like a long way off, but it's right around the corner. Keep an eye out for more details TBA!

October 16th, 2008 - ACA Annual Education Day at the Desmond. Details will be posted as available.

November 20th, 2008 - This will be the date of the next regular ACA meeting at the Crossgates Restaurant. Speaker and other details TBA.

President's Message - May 3, 2008

Horray --- Spring is finally here!!!! As I say that, I realize that although the calendar says April 30th and I was at my daughter’s softball game this evening, and The Derby is this weekend, it actually snowed today in Schenectady !!!!!!!!! What a crazy region we live in. While most Northerners tolerate, if not enjoy, the Four Seasons and the changes in climate we experience, ALL undoubtedly cherish the warm summer days that are quickly approaching.

With that said it is time to remind all ACA members, guests, friends and neighbors of some upcoming BIG SPRING/SUMMER EVENTS….

May 15th Meeting – Chairman Weiss from the NYS Workers’ Compensation Board will be the honored guest speaker at our monthly meeting. I have previously met the new Chairman, who genuinely seems interested in listening to the concerns, queries and questions from individuals who participate in the daily WC process. In the past he has shown an ability to interact with the audience in discussing pertinent topics while sharing his insights and visions. So bring your ideas, questions and concerns to the meeting. Listen, learn and possibly educate the new chairman with your suggestions for improving the NYS WC process.

June 6th Golf Outing – Please mark your calendars….this year’s Spring Golf Outing will be held at Western Turnpike. Please keep your eyes, ears, and emails open for more information. We have some new folks overseeing the Golf Tourney this year! So I would like to take this opportunity to say “THANK YOU” to Nora Gibson and Mario Pecoraro for their hard work and dedication with past ACA golf events. Although they have stepped away, they are still assisting this year’s committee members, and their experience has been invaluable. If anyone would like to participate as a volunteer, sponsor etc, or if you have any questions about the golf outing, please contact Richard Garhartt at RichardG@allianceinvestigative.com.

Lastly, I would like to thank Terri Millard from JAS STATIC PROGRESSIVE STRETCH for taking the time to enlighten our group about her company’s products and the success they have had at increasing patient’s ROM following debilitating injuries. ::About ACA::

The Albany Claims Association was created in 1934. It's original name was the Albany Casualty Claims Men's Association. Throughout the years the Association has evolved to represent and service it's diverse membership.

The purpose of the Association is to promote the professional skill of it's members, the interest of insurers and the highest standard of ethical conduct. Members of the Albany Claims Association include representatives of insurance companies, independent adjusters, defense attorneys, and vendors whose service involves all aspects of property and casualty claims.

Albany Claims Association hosts regular monthly dinner-speaker meetings from October to May, a golf outing in June, a clambake in September, an educational seminar in the fall, and a Holiday Party in December.
